After a long wait, it was finally time for the maiden voyage of our new kayaks. Way back in January we picked up a couple of Inuvik kayaks and they have been stored in our garage ever since. Saturday morning we loaded them on top of the Jeep and drove out to Lake Scugog to test them out.

The weather was perfect for a day on the water. We dropped the kayaks in at Caesarea, on the east side of Lake Scugog. 

We packed some drinks and a couple snacks and just paddled around enjoying the scenery. Surprising enough we only saw a couple of boats on the lake, but plenty of people enjoying the beautiful May sunshine by the water. 

The kayaks were easy to maneuver and provided a smooth ride. We choose this style because it was large enough to allow room for our dog Cooper. While Cooper has been canoeing with us a few times and is now quite comfortable in the canoe we decided to leave him at home for this first trip. The plan is to have Cooper join us on our next kayaking excursion so it may be a bit more eventful!!

This time we just put our feet up and enjoyed a couple of hours on the water.
