With fall comes the cooler temperatures so we decided that Friday may be our last chance at our annual colour run. Every year we suit up (bundle up for Judy) and head out on our bikes to see the spectacular colours that we are so lucky to experience this time of year.

Annual Fall Color Run

Since we had such a great time on the Hwy 503 / 507 route last time, we decided that a similar route would be perfect for this trip. This time though, we headed East to Peterborough first. We rode along the Trent River and then headed to Buckhorn via Hwy 28. We decided on Hwy 28 this time instead of Buckhorn Road since it wasn’t as straight. Along the way we spotted a field with a gang of wild turkeys, that were obviously unaware that it was Thanksgiving weekend!!

From there it was off to lunch at Country Bob’s in Buckhorn – seriously, you HAVE to give this place a try if you’re ever in the Buckhorn area – he even remembered us from the last time, he said it was the matching bikes!!

With our belly’s full of poutine we made our way to the twists and turns of Hwy 507 and the colours along the way did not disappoint.

Hwy 507

When we arrived at Gooderham we turned east and followed Hwy 503 ( a good stretch of this road had just been paved) until we got to Hwy 35. By then the sun was dropping fast and with it the temperature, so it was straight home from here.
